What is a microfiber towel?

Microfiber is a continuous filament fiber that is a combination of two fibers: polyester and polyamide (nylon by-product). The interlocking combination of the two fibers makes the microfibers unique and excellent in picking up dirt. The polyester and polyamide fibers are woven together to form a pie-shaped pattern.
When using a microfiber towel, the two fibers separate due to the difference in surface tension, resulting in small sharp edges, ditches and grooves, which are ideal for clean, moisture capillary action and particle retention.

Hooks or shovel scrape off dirt and store it in tiny passages, which is why you often don't need chemicals that contain microfiber towels.
Introduced in the late 1980s, one standard for judging microfiber towels was the ratio of polyester to polyamide. Recently, industry experts are not sure if this ratio really has any effect on microfiber towels.
